Hey new to the forum here. Rebuilding my 2nd 4l60. While Air testing the reverse drum, I have leakage past the stator rings. The piston will apply but it leaks quite a bit. Is this acceptable for scarf cut rings. I used them on my other build and they did not leak but they do on this one. Reverse drum is in good shape were the rings seal. I ordered some solid ones just incase. I heard that a bit of leakage is ok since air can get by the rings better than the thick atf.

Fill the circuit with fluid then air test it.

Hey bud thanks for the responce. I tested with fluid and the reverse drum jumped up off the stator. Piston engaged a lot stronger at 100psi testing. As psi went down it would still engage but I could see and hear leakage right at the reverse drum bushing. You think It would be ok? I mean it seems ok even with the leakage. It still engages the clutches nice and strong.
