Moving to General Tech..What you need is the rulebook as there are diagrams for roll cages there to follow and you will have then a legal cage..

There is a rollbar and there is a rollcage.
The determination of which you need depends on the class you will be participating in or the Elapsed Time or Trap Speed you will attain. As a for-instance, a minimum 5-point rollbar with 5-point (SFI 16.1) safety belts is required at 11.49 or quicker. A minimum 6-point rollcage is required at 10.99 if the floor of the vehicle has been modified in excess of 4 square feet (not including tubs) or if the firewall has been altered in excess of 1 square foot. If the floor and/or firewall are unaltered beyond the figures I listed here, then a rollbar is legal to 10.00 E.T. and 134 mph.
A minimum 6-point rollcage is required on all vehicles at 9.99 or quicker and on all vehicles that go 135 mph or faster in the quarter mile.

X2 Tech... Our track here in oregon requires a Minimum cage at 11.99 for a full bodied car. You can run 12's all day long but once you get that 11.99 your sent home.

If you need the car to pass tech.. DONT buy your belts until your ready to go racing.

This is because the belts are dated at the point of manufacture and are dated ahead to compensate for shelf-time at the dealer's store. Depending, you could get belts with dates that aren't even here yet. I used to find belts all the time with dates that were still in the future. On the opposite side of the coin, you can also end up with belts that have very little time left on them because they were on the shelf longer than other belts. What you're payin' for is two years worth of belts, so make sure you get your money's worth.

Thats why I mention it.. I have race car's come in here all the time that they've spent years building the car and made the mistake of buying the belts early on. They get to the track and they're turned away.

One of the things the guys can do is get an old set for setting up and fitting and then buy the new belts when they are ready to go racing..Old belts should be cheap as they cannot be used anymore..Just an idea..
