This is because the belts are dated at the point of manufacture and are dated ahead to compensate for shelf-time at the dealer's store. Depending, you could get belts with dates that aren't even here yet. I used to find belts all the time with dates that were still in the future. On the opposite side of the coin, you can also end up with belts that have very little time left on them because they were on the shelf longer than other belts. What you're payin' for is two years worth of belts, so make sure you get your money's worth.If you need the car to pass tech.. DONT buy your belts until your ready to go racing.
