I'm thinking about filling the roof on my 31 ford 5w coupe. What would work as a donor car? I seem to remember that there was a particular van that had the same crown. Any help would be great!!
The Pinto station wagon is a great filler for 28-32 Ford coupes and maybe even 33-34. Just remember to do your layout sideways on the roof. In other words, the FRONT of your Model A insert pattern should be laid to the rain gutter side of the donor roof.
The Pinto/Bobcat roofs from 1972-80 are not ribbed. Perhaps the Vega is but I haven't seen one in so long I can't remember. Heck, even the Pintos are getting scarce.
Thanks to all that replied, but i have another question.Do you put the new roof over whats there,or remove whats there say up to the gutters?
Thanks again.
last one i did, replaced all the wood and used a chevy M van roof panel from drip rail to drip rail, from visor to soft top attachment at the rear then blended the rear upright "T" strips into the roof.
