I have a 1990 model mustang 5 liter that I have been working on for about 2 years now. I know that this is by no means a classic hot rod, but none the less I still love it. I will be doing most of the engine work on the car
and am looking into putting a blower application on it so my ? is, since the car is already fuel injected, should I go w a blower from say procharger, or would it be that much harder to convert to carb, and go w/ a roots style blower.
I realy want the roots style, but if you guys think that it would be tooo much trouble, i'll prob go w/ the ball drive.
also list some things that I would possibly need to make the roots style work, I have alot of ideas, but imput is always good.

Jimi,
Greetings! Read your post, have some things for you to consider during your decision-making process: The Roots-style blowers look cool as hell, some say, but they are noisy, require you to cut holes in hoods, and necessitate an intake manifold swap. (more work)
The "ball-type" superchargers bolt on your existing platform, no intake manifold swap, quiet operation, no holes in the hood, and you can continue using your reliable fuel-injection for everyday use. Carbs and Roots-style setup's can be mighty picking about tuning and sometimes an almost constant maintenace factor. Want something to bolt on and just ENJOY? I would suggest the "ball-type" over the Roots. You'll probably end up much happier....... - Don, New York
