Hi Guys,
I'm starting a project restoring a 67 C10. I have the cab off and stripped it down to bare metal and welded in some new sheet metal parts. I ended up spraying it with a product called Rust Bullet. I'm unclear on what product to use next before paint. Rust Bullet is similar to POR-15.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are not getting much help here on this because pretty much everyone here would have told you to use epoxy primer instead of a POR-15 like product on the bare steel.

I have never heard of Rust Bullet. What does that company recommend to use over it?

I haven't used the Rust Bullet product and their website is somewhat evasive on the answer just saying "work with any topcoat" - they don't say anything about scuffing or further prep work

Since they don't outright tell you I'd treat this stuff the same as any other base primer I might use...if its been over 24-48 hours your best bet is to lightly scuff with 180, do any major bodywork and and apply a couple of coats of high build primer like PPG k36. This will give you a base to start blocking.

I have no clue what this stuff is but someone mentioned about being like por15. Well there are chemical companies that will give you the formula to make a por like product or have it made for you and put your label on it.
The product is cheap to make and easy so I would guess there are a lot of copies out there.

With this in mind I would not do anything with anything over the product you are using until you talk with the company.
If it is a copy of por then you will need what they call tie coat before applying anything over that product so it does not peel down the road.

Your pretty deep into the job at this point to be short cutting or screwing up so I would call.
