If you are looking for a truck for light hauling and to get good gas milage, there is nothing wrong with a 4 cyl S-10.

Can't be any worse than the 80s 2.8 v6..............those slugs can't get out of their own way...................They do last though....mine has 200,000 on it.

the heads on the 2.5L S10 4cyls will need a valve job sooner or later, they seem to actully need them right around around 100k which would be considered premature for most newer engines, but other than that, there great running engines. my uncle has a 2000 with the 4cyl and 5spd, gets almost 30 MPG.
