I have used my sandblaster that I bought from T.I.P. for three years now with nothing but play sand bought at Lowes or Home Depot. I am blasting old heavy panels on my 63 Ford and have sprayed House of Colors Candy Red on them after sandblasting and priming them. Everything looks very nice no warping or problems like that. The sand costs two bucks a bag, and I sweep it up and re-strain it several times reusing it over and over. I do all my blasting outside on a concrete slab about 12x12, and recover about 75%-80% after sweeping each time. I have taken each panel individually, each bolt, each strap etc. apart to blast as I had rust on everything. When I worked in a body shop as a teenager years ago, the old bodyman told me that sandblasting thouroughly was the ONLY way to eradicate rust. Just my two cents!
