Im going to be doing my final blocking and was wondering if going from 220 grit to 400 then to 600 is acceptable? thanks

Before paint? 300 -400 is fine for final sand. Color sanding? 600/1000/2000 then polish.

In a word, yes, that is fine.

Apply guidecoat between sandings to make sure you cut out all of the scratches from the previous grit-otherwise some usually get missed and end up showing when basecoat is applied. 600 grit final sand is perfect, 400 grit would be coarse especially if it's a metalic color. Bob
