I was thinking you could probably pick up a couple buckets out of a smaller pickup. I have a '91 mazda and i am 6'5". The seats are fine, although they don't have much support sideways, not built for cornering. If you want something for the twisties i would find some sort of import model to use. A buddy of mine has a civic del sol and it has really nice seats. They grab you pretty good, although your wallet will get the grab too if you find them anywhere.
Read your request for ideas on the bucket seats. Migt try looking at a pair from a Buick Somerset approx `86 model. Drivers has power passenger is manual. Flat mounting surface and fits in narrow spaces nicely, nice looking as well. Just a suggestion! I scoured the junk yard to find aset to fit the Model A I have and these were very nice. didn`t have to go afermarket.. Good Luck sir!
I have a 41 Willys and I found the PERFECT seats. they are 1999 Jeep Grand Cheorkee Limited. They are 10 way power and heated, The BEST thing about them is the "footporint" of the brackets. The front inside brackets are inset 4" to accomodate the tunnel. They look good, feel good and will support my fat but. They also have power lumbar support.
Glad to see your buildong a willys. I just got done with the seats in my 41 willys and whentto the junk yard and bought buckets out of a 2000 ford escort. The seats fit great and I am 5 10 and 220 lbs.
Old body turbo coupes buckets fit perfect and are great for the taller guy or new stuff if you are lucky to find a wrecked Cobalt they fit really good too with great lateral support. With Cobalts you have to adjust for the front hook floor attach but they are the perfect width height and style.
I have Cavalier seats in my 41 Willys. '02's I got nearly brand new for $125pr. they fit perfect. A seat that folds forward would be better however. Dark blue/gray. Nice support too. 240 & 6ft even. I'm going to put an inch spacer under them in the spring for a little better visibility out the back.
