Does anyone have experience with a serpentine belt drive system on a 283 sbc? I am curious what the options are, and if any of them interface with the weiand style blowers.

Thank you,
Chris

mounting holes

Only problem I can think of is your 283 must have heads on it with accessory mounting holes.

The heads that are currently on the engine are the high performance iron Dart II heads from 10 years ago...they do have mount holes for accessories on them.

You can use pulleys from a chevy V-6, my neighbor put them on a mud bogger, one on the crank, water pump and adjust with the alternator just like the regular belts.
I plan on doing the same on my vette over the winter.

serp setup

I use the entire serp belt setup from an 89 chev pickup on my Chevelle. No adjustments needed.

That is ingenious as well.

It would be safe to say then that I could find a supercharger that would be compatible with a setup like that. Just need to look in the right place.

Thank you,
Chris
