Not on a SBC, they are adjusted with an Allen wrench and can bet set with a dwell meter while running. Lift door insert wrench turn while watching meter. Used to do it all the time.One thing about setting points. When you screw the new points down and you are on the high point of the lobe you can snug the points down and there is a little notch in the points plate where you stick in a screwdriver and you can rotate the points open or closed while checking with a feeler gauge.
You don't have to have 3 hands to do them.
