horsepower takes a lot of air. The more air you put in the more h/p you get out. grinding around the seats is a touchy buisiness though. I would not advise doing it unless you been around it for a while. the best way is to have them flowed by someone with a flow bench. If it is done properly Each percent increase in flow is a direct increase in H/P. provided your cam, exhaust, carburation, and ignition can handle the increase.
