I am new to the industrial sewing machines and have been searching the internet for help but have been coming up short. I am wanting to use my machine up upholstery marine type vinyl.

I am wanting suggestions of what type of tread and or needle (sizing) I should use for this very old machine.

Thanks for the help!

I've had mine for 40 years and it was probably 30 years old then. Googling Singer 111W155 will get you a lot of info including the manual. I've only replaced the timing belt which was easy and the motor/clutch with a modern setup which makes speed control easy. Mine came with a box of 100 #22 needles and that is what I've used. The only ID I can find on my big spools is B92 and 4oz. Have fun.

You can find a wealth of info at "the thread exchange".
39 Master is right. The Thread Exchange does an excellent job of explaining the sizing on thread and needles. As I remember, they have a chart showing which needle are compatible with what thread sizes.
