i was wondering what i should gap my plugs at. I have a 400sbc I dont know if mods matter but here they are. A edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock carb, crane energizer 272/272 cam patriot headers, dual 2.5 inch exhaust. I have a dyno appointment today and one of my plugs went out and i need to get this fixed quick.

thanks

Carb, cam, or intake don't matter. It is your ignition system that will dictate how much gap you can run.
How 'bout compression? Wouldn't high compression require less of a gap & vise-versa for a low comp smog motor?

IMO, I never go over .040", & that's even with an MSD. Too much gap will really put a strain on any ignition system.

Good spark is as good as its enviroment, iff you have fuel too
burn with correct ox and not too much wimd to blow the flame out it should burn with power,,.
