I'm straying off-topic a bit here ... and apologies for that in advance.
I had a customer ask about a speedometer change-over.
He's putting a GM driveline into a '48 Ford, and wants to retain the original speedometer.
The 700R-4 that he has presently ... has a "sender" (?) for an electric speedo.
I seem to recall that the early (up to 1987 ?) models used to have a conventional speedo cable and drive.
In fact, I think I was involved with changing a mechanical drive to electric several years ago. ("CRAFT disease" in play here :embarrass )
IF I recall, the drive gear on the output shaft AND the driven gear assembly both had to be exchanged ... right?
