Hi, we're putting an automatic 700r4 transmission behind a 4.3l v6 in a 90 chevy silvarado. We can't find a plug that will plug into the transmission for the speedometer, reverse lights or anything else. It did have a standard transmission in it. the auto trasmission/engine is coming out of an 89 chevy blazer. basically we're having hell getting the plugs to match up. the computers look identical and we really don't want to have to switch out the entire wiring harness as that would take several days and the pickup is a daily driver that we're trying to get done in the 4 day holiday weekend.

Dose anyone know of any conversion kits, or any way to hook up some of these plugs, or atleast identify which plugs/wire do what? Google led me here, but past that it's being very unhelpful.

Thanks.

the 700/4L60 trans you are installing will require the pictured items..... the round reluctor wheel installed onto the output shaft and the sensor on the right for the 1990 truck for the speed-O to function.

.

I think the reverse lights are switch activated from a switch at the steering column near the firewall inside the vehicle.

Do you know where i could find those? the transmission has an electronic connector but im not even sure which plug would go to the speedometer. *sigh* i just wish they'd have never discovered putting computers in trucks. life was so much simpler back then.

they are available new at GM dealer or try an independent tranny shop, not a chain store tranny shop ( AAMCO or other)

Ok change of pace. I need an ECU and a wiring harness. has to hookup to the 4.3l and transmission out of the 1989 chevy s10 blazer, and work with the 1990 chevy pickup. any ideas on where to look for something like that?

also the plug for the speedometer on this transmission has 3 pins where the plug off of the computer only has 2. thus we're figuing just having to get a whole new ecu/harness and do it that way. preferably a better than stock ecu at that.
