Hello everyone, I have a 67 Impala 4dr with a moderately built up 350 and a powerglide trans (stock). The problem is, when the engine rocks/moves when it's idling or in gear, the shifter linkage going right to the transmission (has a spring holding the bar to the tranny) squeaks like crazy. This car is my daily driver, so it is driving me up a wall!!! I've tried cutting a chunk out of a floor mat and almost using it as a "transmission condom" or a shim, but they've all fallen out eventually. How do I solve this problem? Tried brake cleaning it, oiling it, you name it. Help? Please?
