Can I change my 168 tooth flex plate to a 153 tooth so that my new gear reduction starter will work? The engine is a 94 LT1 with a turbo 700r4. Will the converter bolts still line up? Is there any other problems I may have?
Look at the old flexplate and see if it has two bolt patterns. If it does, and your converter was using the bolt pattern with the smallest diameter of the two, it should bolt up to the new one just fine.
