My Camaro front clip is welded to a 1948 Plymouth coupe frame, With the stock '69 camaro front suspension the fenders drag on the tires in turns; only shallow turns do not burn sidewalls. (ruined 1 pair front tires) to cure this I installed spring spreaders knuckles from Pep Boy's. These lifted the fenders high enough so I don't ruin tires. This seems like jerry-rigged way to get what I need. Any one put those rubber rings under springs? Can this be done without undoing the lower ball joint? I to am looking for a less expensive way than Air suspension.:confused::mwink::pain: Henry

Maybe your front springs are worn out, sagging or broken. New springs may be needed
Can you show pictures of how its sitting? My front of my truck sits a bit low (Nova clip).....thinking about new springs this winter

Just noticed your picture of the car...Wheels look very close to the fender from what I can see....Maybe a different offset wheel would work better

Springs are new from Camero Central part# SUS-61 Non lowering BB '69 Camaro.

changing back spacing would solve problem. American Racing makes very limited size, rim width, and back spacing for their Classic 200s wheel. What you see in the picture posted is their 14X7 (I forget Back space). No 14" 200s are made any more. I bought 15"X6 with same back space; got a bit more clearance. I put (Cheap) 195x65R15 on. they still rub at hard turns.

With spring knuckles I can use any wheel-tire combination I have: BUT I lost the nice rake the car had!
Looking at New after market wheels I like it seems like Air suspension for front and 4 wheels pricing is about a wash.

You can normally install a set of isolators to gain 1/2" to 1" at the wheel. You would have to remove the coil to get a upper and lower isolator on.

The down side to this is the farther you try to raise the suspension in its travel the more the camber curve is negatively effected. Its way to common for a guy to swap in a camaro clip and not position it correctly in its travel to match his desired ride height.

I needed to know that

Mike I have seen ads for Tube type control arms that say they give more caster camber adjustment. would that help?

Or is air suspension the better option.

Our arms along with many other manufactures do allow more caster & camber adjustment then most due to how we relocate the upper ball joint on the arm. This is because we have set the arm up to be aligned at a lowered height to the best setup for performance driving. The thing we have to look at on your setup is the current position of the lower a arms. Are they parallel to the ground now?

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. and I still can't. I moved the Hotrod to its winter storage. I hoped my son and I could get there this weekend but it did not happen.

ASP I will get there and take the measurements you suggest. I am very intersected in your opinion on the front end.
