Welcome to the site chevy mikee. :welcome: Sounds like an interesting project! What else are you doing to the body? Are you building it like an old style custom taildragger?

Lots of info and opinions here. To get the most out of the site check out the Knowledge Base and use the search function for quick answers to your questions. As well check out the Project Journals for info and inspiration. Glad to have you here and enjoy the site.

Thanks for the greeting. On my 48 coupe, the body is channeled 5"over the frame(which is from a S10).I wouldn't suggest to anyone to use this chassis/body combo because the S10 frame slopes upward over the rear axle.Yes,it got the body nice and low but the trunk space is going to be very limited.I wanted to chop the top also but I will have to see if there is enough headroom after I have welded in the new floor and removed the body stiffening braces from the interior. I have 2" lowering blocks on the rear axle, but with the big and little tires that it has,it has a good hotrod rake to it.Starting at the back of the body I am going to have a rolled pan incorporating a sunken license plate,Frenched led taillights, molded fenders, extended rockers, modified Buick front fenders to get the wheel wells in line with the front wheels, frenched headlights and any chrome will have a brushed effect done to it. Thanks again for your greeting and your interest in my project Chevy Mikee
