Ok,I'm sure that this has been covered in lenghts in this forum and others but I need help specific to my predicament.
I have this 1969 chevy C10 step side that I scored from a friend .Hardly rusted, running engine, lowered suspension....All around decent truck for a measly 500 bucks.Everything was great until I decided to freshen up the engine.See,oil had leaked all over it (should have told me something)and looked nasty. The tranny suddenly stopped working....So,I decided to pull the engine and tranny.I got new gaskets and paint ,and since the crank case was banged up,got a new aluminium one for the sake of good looks.
As we got ready to install the new oil pan,we noticed that the rods definitely had a more than fair amount of free play between them and the crank

ain.Since I was still hoping for the best(maybe it only needed new bearings)When we checked by pulling one of the caps...It was definitely damaged, and the cranck too!

So,a rebuil is in order now and since I am forced to go that route, might as well make the best of it.383 stroker that is...
Since my block is a 4 bolt mainI decided to give the engine a few more hoses and I need your help to get a good kit.
I'd like the engine to put out around 500 horses ....Can anyone direct me to a good retailer and the specs of the parts I'll need.I'm trying to build this on a budget .Thanks in advance
