OK guy, last time i told you about what i thought was a ring gear problem on my 89 Jimmy. Well my mechanic took my transfer case apart and changed a little plastic ring , Said it was good to go. well lets just say its still jumping out of gear on the sound is louder then before, he said the shift mechanism was fine and so was the transfer case. But hes out of ideas and that i should take it to a transmission shop .any ideas out there before i spend more money fixing the wrong thing.

A line to try might be AMCO (sp?) transmissions, I've heard of 30 dollars external breakdowns, they'll basically try and cost you as little as possible. It definity sounds like your tranny, I've tossed two due to a manufactur defect that is supposed to be fixed in and rebuilts but wasn't both times. Hooray lack of information, it's why I'm on this board.
My sympathies, friend. Trannys suck.
