Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out what this 3/8" threaded hole is on the drivers side facing back towards the governor at about the 9 oclock position. I found trans fluid seaping from it. I was wondering if it was ok to just seal it with a plug.
That’s the hole for the parking pawl pin. It has a cup plug installed to seal the hole, not threaded unless someone tapped it. You can try to remove the plug and install a new one or clean it up real good and fill it with silicone. It’s not under pressure.
Thanks man,I appreciate that. It's threaded and I have a plug for it.Noticed that because the governor cover was leaking,it's a TCI trans and they recommend putting an anaerobic sealant on the lip of the cover.
