My TH700 doesn't want to engage reverse when cold, ( australia cold, about 10 deg cel at the times it's chuckin the wobblies ), also has vbration in overdrive , fluic level ok ,clean,doesn't stink.
Help apreciated.

Not sure if you mean kick down cable or what.

The 700 tranny does not have a kick down cable , it is a TV cable.... TV = throttle valve. The TV cable has nothing to do with the reverse engagment.

It sounds more like a pressure loss from a hard seal problem when the temps drop down low enough.

the OD vibration could be the converter clutch chattering.

What year 700 are we talking about? Un hooking electric to a non electronic controlled ( 4L60E) tranny would remove the converter clutch application to see if the vibration goes away.

all gear changes seem fine , I did find a parts diagram on the net showing a band for 2nd and 4th ?? is that correct ?? Im finding it very hard to find info on this auto ,, Band adjustment specs,, tear down and rebuild etc etc ,,
Iff you guys could point me in the right direction it would be muchly appreciated..

also the reverse not engaging problem happend when auto was Hot (after driving up a mountain ) as you said about a seal problem ,, there must be,,

Like Crossley says it is probably a bad internal seal or seals.
There is no " real " band adjustment possible on this transmission.
The only true adjustment is to your pocket book.
Make sure the fluid level is proper.
If you have the tools and capabilities take a pressure test.
Then remove the pan and have a look around.
Check the filter and filter seal.
The filter seal can be the cause of a low pressure reading.
I have seen filters "implode" which will cause a restriction of fluid intake.

1/ What is a wobblie.
