TECH-4 ENGINE

972 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  CitationII
I recently bought a 87 Pontiac with a tech-4 engine.

I like the car and realy like the performance of the car. What i want to know is there any way that the little engine can run better ie. the performance is good but I'd like it to be better.

I know this isnt your regular type of V8 major muscle motors but I think this is what us budgeted gear-heads will have to work with in the future like it or not.

any help or contacs to companies that specialise in this would be greatly apreciated

Sure, that 2.5 actually has a good amount of performance parts for it. Check with comp cams, crane cams, etc, you'll find parts for them-you just have to dig a little, since the demand is not high-those motors used to be raced, before quad4 came along. For tuning in the field, you need to look at carb, or programmable fuel injection systems.
Hey man..

If you look around, there is actualy alot of stuff out there. I own an 85' Citation with the tech 4 ( "Iron Duke") Lets see.

<a href="http://www.cranecams.com" target="_blank">www.cranecams.com</a> (cams)
<a href="http://www.compcams.com" target="_blank">www.compcams.com</a> (cams)
<a href="http://www.cliffordperformance.com" target="_blank">www.cliffordperformance.com</a> ( headers, cam, exuast)
<a href="http://www.holley.com" target="_blank">www.holley.com</a> ( TBI UNIT, Ignition)

Search around and good luck!
It's nice to see another Tech 4 fan.
