I hooked up a fused (25 amp) 10 ga. wire from the nut on my alternator to the large lug ( battery) on the starter. This is on my SBC on the test stand. Is this OK to keep the battery charged as I run the engine?

Doc here, :pimp:

Replace the FUSE for a properly Sized FUSE LINK or MAXI FUSE.

The alternator Probably puts out 65 or more amps, so that's the figure I'd settle for. The STOCK coil can draw up to 20 amps, and a performance coil up to 40 amps..

A Standard 25 amp fuse will probably open on the first spike it See's Where a Fuse link Will not, a fuse link requires Heat and Time to melt the junction.

Good luck on the test stand
