Hey guys Im new to this forum and Ive been looking at old threads with not much luck. Im going to rebuild a Camaro 350 tranny either 70 or 72 not sure. It been sitting for a couple of years but they move is once and a while. The forward gears are gone but reverse works so so. The kid wants some what of a performance build which Im not quit familiar with. Ive herd some people say not to buy a shift kit, just to take out check balls or stretch springs. I was wandering what tips you all have to build a decent 350 that can take the abuse of a kid without busting the bank. The motor is a basically stock 350ci (for now??).

Thanks for the help.

350

Just do a normal rebuild.
Don't go overboard with a bunch of stuff. The TH350 is a very reliable unit if done properly.
Install a Transgo- 2 shift kit.
Again don't go overboard.
Follow the instructions and don't throw anything away that isn't mentioned.
Clean the cooler and lines well.
