Hey my father in law is using a th350 he had it rebuilt and has less then 500 miles on it, as he is still building the truck. we just pulled the motor and trans to have the motor crank redone. Anyway tranny fluid started leaking from the tail shaft and then we pulled the motor and tranny appart and it leaked like the main seal was leaking. Im thinking the tranny wasn't redone right or something went wrong.
My question is this:Should trany fuild be coming out the front or real seal? and how many quarts of fluid does a th350 take?

If the trans is tilted fluid will run out. Fluid can run out the pump in front and when converter is removed. http://www.tciauto.com/Products/TechInfo/fluid_capacity.asp

A t-350 trans can hold up to 10 quarts of fluid when the trans and converter are both empty.

tilting the trans around will result in fluid loss if there are openings , converter out of the pump , etc.

The seals are there for one purpose, to prevent oil leaks WHEN THE TORQUE CONVERTER and YOKE are installed. If they are not installed the seals CANNOT stop any leaks.
