I personally use adaware and spybot search and destroy... both available from tucows.com and download.com

Download.com is part of cnet... and everything there is checked for viruses..

I haven't had a real problem.

When my nephew visits and plays all the online games... I'll run the pair of them and catch 100+ spyware programs and trojans.... They are also both updated fairly regularly..

Also.. kaspersky is a russian company that has a free trial available of their antivirus program.. pretty good deal if you need a quick fix..

You might also want to create a user account that has limited access for your daughters.. and even yourself to use, keeping the administrator position password protected, .. it will help limit some malicious programs from being able to make edits to the system.

Or you could just run linux =)
