Two weeks ago a deer ran into the side of the wifes truck. It did $2300 damage and got up and ran away.

We have a lot of trouble with kangaroos - check out ARB and TJMs websites. Most outback cars/4wds have 'roo bars and semis run huge bullbars. If you hit a 'roo or a sheep in a semi it's like hitting a cat in a car.
I hit a scrub bull (feral bull) once in a cabover Atkinson and it shook the truck so bad it broke an engine mount (8v92tta). A lot of unfenced country once you get 5 0r 6 hours from Melbourne or Sydney.
