I have recently installed a ford power assist steering control valve and slave cylinder in my 38 Dodge. The tie rod end that goes into the steering arm is a little to big and I can only get the castle nut on about half way. My question is... Is this a 7.12 degree taper? I need to purchase a ream to enlarge the hole. I would feel a lot better about purchasing a tapered ream if I was sure of the taper.

That's easy enough to figure out. Get some clay and fill up the socket. carefully pull it out and measure the angles with a protractor.
OR
Chevy Monte Carlo and the likes cars have tie rods sockets of 1.5 or 7' so you can take it a parts store and see if it will fit.

You can also measure the big hole, small hole, lenght and some trig will tell you the taper.
