I have an old Jag with toggle switches for most functions. I want to put in power windows but use a toggle type switch instead of a rocker style. Does anyone know if there are toggle switches that would have enough contacts to work as a window switch and if so where to buy them?

radio shack, yeah, they make them. reverse polarity, with a neutral in the center, that's how they work, even rocker switches

Get a 3 position double pole, double throw switch..(6 contacts)

Wire the window motor to the center wiper, power on the left contact, ground on the right contact...

Then bring power from the fuse to the top left contact, ground to the top right contact, (power and ground to center wiper when the switch is pushed up) This will be "window up"...

Then from the top contacts make two jumpers to the bottom contacts in an "X" pattern, so that power is on the right contact, and ground is on the left contact, this reverses the motor, and serves as "window down"..

BE sure the center position is "OFF" or the window will always be running in one direction or the other..(up--off--down).

Don't use the RatShak parts, most are junk. Go online to either DigiKey or Mouser electronics, you can get high quality Mil Spec switches for what you will pay at RatShak.

Relays can be used to control the window motor.

This permits the use of a small switch or switches if control is needed at multiple locations.

toggle switches for windows.. you can only hope no one ever hits the toggle and then gets caught in the window on its way up. true only an idiot would do this but there out the ... every where

I would think that a rocker would be better for this application... I'd hate to think of what a standard toggle switch lever would do to you in a accident.

Momentary toggle switches with spring centering will work fine - such as these:
