Tool organizers

I used a dense foam such as the stuff used for mats at Harbor freight. Traced each tool on the foam and cut it out. Took some time but know exactly where each tool is at and can tell at a glance if one is missing. I use a small roll around box just for metric.

other than socket organizers, i line the drawers with cardboard, some has been there for 20 yrs
i do have a few cardboard boxes for allen wrenches and similar stuff
thin foam drawer liner bunches and moves with the drawer movement
if i made thicker foam with cutouts for every tool, i'd need 3 of your 32 drawer boxes
plus i know what tools i own, don't need them all laid out all pretty like
i've never been impressed with the guy that shows up at a shop with the huge tool box with foam cutouts for 20 tools in each drawer
curious, harbor freight box? the quality of their boxes impresses me every time i see them

For socket sets, i have used the mechanics time saver magnetic holders. I mostly worked at a bench building automatic transmissions the last 30 yrs. I could open my HF cart, grab about 10 tools or sets , place them on the bench. Get after it.

I used the slotted end combo wrench holders in the cart.. 5/16 to 1 inch.

Metric stuff was all in one large drawer & it was very full.

Yep, HF box. Boxes, like outdoor grills. always overpriced but the HF are more than good enough for me. I'm not a tool snob, but I knew when something is worth a dollar.
My deal is I tend to keep like tools together, on the same side of the shop as the thing I'm using. Lathe tools over there, mill tools over there, air/electric/wall power tools by the lift, and this box in the middle for hand tools. I like all those idea's, it beats the "throw it the drawer method" I've been using for 45 years. With multiples of most things and foam cutouts, I'd be at it for moths figuring that out but it also look super nice. I don't like people so no one is looking at it but me anyway.
I have another box in the trailer, filled with most things we need at the track including not so high quality ones I can throw at other drivers when needed. That box is always a giant mess but I promised myself not to do that on this. Hopefully I can keep my own promises.

I generally think of HF tools a cheap throw-aways. However, their tool chests and cabinets look and feel really nice.

Many things at HF are but if you know what your looking for some things are just less expensive.
The HF boxes are just as good as my Waterloo stuff.

I like these JSP cheap wrench organizers. Also bought a few magnetic socket trays off amazon
