Is anyone here knowledgable about the internal combinations when it comes to torque converters other than just the stall numbers?
I have a custom made 9.5 inch GM unit with a #0 impeller and 086 Sonnax stator. It’s a 3500 stall, but with only 1.68 stall torque ratio. I would like some advice with regards to a few questions for you converter builders or gurus.
I’m using a TH350 with no lock up or overdrive. This is a street strip car, so I was looking for coupling efficiency, but now regret the low STR. I have not installed it and an conciderimg having the stator switched to an 082 unit for a 2.17 STR but left efficiency on the top end.
Can anyone help?
