a 2200 rpm torque converter like the one used on an S-10 pick-up for my 700r4 that I am having rebuilt. The tranny is going into a Jaguar XJ-S with a 355 Small Block Chevy with Tuned Port Fuel Injection.
My concern is that the car weighs 4,000lbs and has a 2.88 rear end ratio. I am wondering if this is too high a stall speed for a car that will primarily run in the 1500 -4500 rpm range. The computer will operate the torque converter lock-up at highway speeds. I am not looking to win any stop light drags with this car. I am going to run an auxiliary trans cooler on this car.
Looking for opinions from the group on this recommendation to my application.
Thanks in advance,
