OK, lets get the oppinions in here...im new to the whole build your own car thing...i only have myself and the net to teach me...so, with that said. Im looking at a 78ta with an auto tranny, and i was wondering how much it would be to switch over to a 4spd (or 5 or 6 if possible). Also what are the +'s and -'s to each transmission (auto vs 4spd/5/6) thanks and any help is appriciated.

It depends on your skill level and the amount of patience you have.
It is a doable project but could take awhile.
Some stuff you will need.

transmission.
flywheel.
pilot bearing.
clutch assembly.
bell housing.
cross member.
drive shaft.
inspection cover.
steering column.
( you need someplace to hang the clutch pedal from)
shifter.
clutch linkages.
These are the items just off the top of my head.

well, that doesnt sound too easy...perhaps one of the local trans shops could do it, well i guess ill go ask them how much parts and labor would be. thanks stu
