OK, lets get the oppinions in here...im new to the whole build your own car thing...i only have myself and the net to teach me...so, with that said. Im looking at a 78ta with an auto tranny, and i was wondering how much it would be to switch over to a 4spd (or 5 or 6 if possible). Also what are the +'s and -'s to each transmission (auto vs 4spd/5/6) thanks and any help is appriciated. :D

It depends on your skill level and the amount of patience you have.
It is a doable project but could take awhile.
Some stuff you will need.

transmission.
flywheel.
pilot bearing.
clutch assembly.
bell housing.
cross member.
drive shaft.
inspection cover.
steering column.
( you need someplace to hang the clutch pedal from)
shifter.
clutch linkages.
These are the items just off the top of my head.
