My friend replaced the trans in his 77 Chevy short bed Pick Up the th 350 he installed is 2 in shorter than the old one We need to know if any one knows if there's a stock shaft that fit the shorter trans.

That should be 3" shorter and to my knowledge there isn't a drop in shaft.
The longer transmissions are usually in a longer wheel base vehicle and have a two piece drive shaft with a center support bearing.

As stu points out the lengths of tail housings on a t-350 change by 3 inches.

image below shows a 12 inch t-350 tail housing on the left , then a 9 inch , then a 6 inch BOP tail.

Some of the SWB '73-'81 trucks allegedly came with short-tail T350's, so you might try to find a driveshaft from one of those. Measure the current shaft & add 3" to the length.

Beware that they changed rear ends to a 10-bolt in '82, & the newer rear end takes a ~3/4" shorter driveshaft than the earlier trucks with the 12-bolt rears.
