I went through a photo album left by my father and there are some pics of this car. I tried identifying but haven't had luck. This is the mid 1950s and Canada, so model line up could be different even if its an American car.

A Canadian Mercury was badged a Monarch, while a Canadian Ford was called a Meteor. For a few years the Monarch had a Ford dashboard and the Meteor had a Mercury dash. Grilles and exterior trim were different than American counterparts.

Thanks for clearing that up. Too bad he didn't hold on to it, but it was just a car to him, especially back then.

That looks a lot like a Mercury Montclair that my brother owned many years ago.
