Turbo and external wastegate question. help please

So im building a v6 with a single turbo. I originally planned on running a single tial 38mm wastegate right before the turbo where the y-pipe merges at the turbo flange. after some measurements i came to the conclusion that there is just no room at all to run a wastegate there. I was thinking of maybe running two 38mm wastegates right off each header.. one problem i think would be the fact that if the wastegates are there they still have another foot and a half of tubing on each side until they reach the turbo.. will this affect anything or is it perfectly fine?

How far away from the turbo can the wastegates be to perform how they should?

thanks

You can route them any where as long as the fit. The entire manifold will be under pressure so it wont have a problem getting out.

I would not use two waste gates. Cost twice as much and getting them to go off at the same time would be near impossible. A waste gate before the Y-pipe, after one header should do it. It doesn't need to be right at the Y-pipe. Or you could do it the way that I did it. Check out my photo album.
