Hello out there
I am in the process of a twin turbo 406 build and hoping to get around 900hp
Anyone built a 700r or 200r4 for this type of hp?
if so what parts were used thanks

Maybe Frank Cahall from Cahall Performance Transmissions in Delaware...he has a web site. I know for sure that he builds one of the strongest 4L60e's and is also a real good guy that you can talk to on the phone.

I know Jake just started doing 200-4r's again and he holds his to around 550ft lbs reliably.

Something to think about, you will go nuts with trying to set shift points in a 700r/200-4r. You really need something in the 4L60e or 4L80e family; that way you get more strength and the ability to program the shifts.

To build a 2004R or 700R4 to hold 900HP/TQ is going to cost as much or more than a 4L80E. The 4L80E will also be much more reliable at that power range. The 3 names AutoGear listed build great 80E trans & can also supply the controller if you don't want manual only shifts.

Most Pro builders suggest:
2004R - 800HP/TQ Max.
700R4 - 700HP/TQ Max.

I was in the same boat, and originally decided on a 700R4-after doing my Homework, I realized that it wouldn't live in my Car for long, so I went with a Stage IV 4L80E from Jake's (which will hopefully be delivered next week)-if I were you I would definitely consider something that can handle the Torque that you will be producing, unless you like to R&R your Transmission-

thanks guys i didnt like the 80s because of the weight but the programming of the shift etc sounds right on
I think that a 4l60e or 80e prob will be the trans that i use
