What Jon is doing benefits all of us and all he would have had to do is deleted the original post and they would have dropped the suit.

I urge all of you to donate what you can to help Jon out.
I'm usually not easily riled up by the injustices that seem to plague our society. But there is something that just rubs me the wrong way when some fat-cat rip off artist comes along trying to bully his way through this forum and silence Jon's right to free speech!

I HATE a bully.

And, way to step up, BarryK.

I brought this up on another thread but it bears repeating. We have a vet here in town who is a "Vetbeasts" sort of place, total out an out sleaze-balls. After bringing my cat there and being ripped off and scammed at a friends suggestion I checked out "Yelp.com" a review site on the net. This "Vet" (and I use that term lightly being there is a lot of talk on whether a vet actually is in the building) had about 60 negative reviews. Among the 55 or so horror stories, personal horror stories about beloved pets who were hurt or killed by this place was a few OBVIOUS self posted positive five star reviews. "It is the best equipped veterinarian in the area" "A beautiful facility".

Anyway, I got an email from the owner THREATENING me with a lawsuit if I didn't remove my review! I told him to go F himself of course. A judge would laugh at the jerk, I was TOTALLY with my rights to post the FACTS about my experiances there. Well, went back to those reviews the other day and now there are only about 15 of them! That BAS-TARD scared all those people into removing their stories! One of them did something interesting, they said they feared a law-suit that they couldn't afford so they DID remove their negative review. But in it's place they (legally) posted the threatening email the vet sent them! LOLOLOL

The power these BAS-TARDS get is scary. How many others are there? How many of these scum bags are in YOUR community?

I understand the question is rhetorical, but I can't help but to totally agree- these sleaze balls bully others into submission and unfortunately, many times it works- witness the deletion of all those negative posts on the vet who is really a hack at best and a fraud, possibly. As I've said before- there is a special place in Hell reserved for those who would harm a pet.

Thankfully, my Vet is an honorable man who has cared for my pets since I came to GA from FL in '96. He's not world-class, but never have I felt he didn't have my (and the animal's) best interest at heart.

But I digress. The simple truth of the matter is, if we don't draw the line somewhere, our rights will soon be non existent. Out forefathers are rolling in their graves NOW at the injustices and erosion of rights that we've allowed to occur. If we don't soon put a stop to it, it will be TOO LATE- and we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.

The time to act is now- Jon is fighting it, it is a worthwhile and honorable fight, IMHO. I applaud his efforts- as well as all the contributors. Well done, guys! Keep it up, we will ALL benefit in the long run.

65GTO455 -- there is no specific timeframe in mind, but I would like to reach that goal within a month or two from now.

MARTINSR's experience with a Yelp review is quite telling. You have to wonder how many times that happens on the net without people noticing. It ruins the entire point of a review site if wealthy people can make negative reviews "disappear". Keep in mind that companies also pressure the review website into takedowns, or, simply offer them a payoff to take down a negative review. We've had similar situations over here regarding the Company Reviews, but have never removed one, either under pressure of litigation, or for a payoff. Even if there weren't moral issues involved with removing a review, such a practice drastically diminishes the value of a review website.

Anyway, I obtained PDF scans of one of the new multi-million dollar lawsuits against George G. Levin. Thought you guys would enjoy these:

--Circle K Family, LLC, Robert Kimmel, Marvin Kimmel vs. Banyon 1030-32, LLC, and George G. Levin

Jon, when I click on the posted links, nothing comes up. Have they been blocked?

You must have some kind of block on yourself. Even my piece of crap 10 year old computer opens them.

I'm just a little scmuck I guess. All that legal crap, HUNDREDS of pages of legal crap, I have been able to make it thru 50 years and never had to deal with it. I don't know, I had a business for years, put a roof over my families heads with it, never had to deal with legal stuff like that.

OK, I overestimated the speed of my souped up computer. I have plowed through all the legal jargon and am glad I am not on either end of this mess. Scumbags need Scum Bag lawyers and we have to get down and dirty with them when they aim their garbage at us.

Mr Levin's plate is full and I suspect this is a minor part of the web he spins. Don't think his pockets are going to stay bottomless if his schemes continue to escalate .

Is there any connection with that factory 5 racing? I think that's what it's called. Looks like the same cars.

NO! Factory Five produces probably the highest quality component cars on the market. Not only is there no connection, Streetslime cars aren't even in the same league.

Classic

Just wanted to say we went to court in Las Vegas, I think it was between 87-90, would have to dig out the paperwork to make sure, and won a judgement against Classic/George Levin. We were awarded about $40,000 each. A group of us as a class action and never saw a dime. If memory serves me correct, we did receive $2,000 minus fees from the State of Florida, again I think! Thought you all might like to know about the lawsuit we "won" (ha!). I had almost forgot about this nightmare until a friend of mine sent me the link to this bulletin board.

Just confirming what Centerline said -- to my knowledge, there is no significant connection whatsoever between Streetbeasts and Factory Five Racing. Completely different companies, and, from what I've seen, Factory Five enjoys a favorable reputation among hotrodders and kit car enthusiasts.

SparkyJackMax -- we'd be interested in any additional information or documents you could provide.

Jon, Rothstein's case made USA Today Business section. It confirmed that "more arrests are pending". I guess his pleading "Guilty" eliminates appeals!!??

My educated guess is that Rothstein is singing like a Canary. The guilty plea came way too easily which tells me he's cutting a deal. If the prosecutor has any smarts at all part of the deal was naming his co-conspirators. Lavin's days are numbered for sure. :D :D :D :D :D :D
