Can anyone help with the firing order of a 305 chevy truck engine and where the #1 post is on the distributor?

18436572 is your firing order, and you will need to bring your #1 piston (driver side front of engine) to TDC and then pull your cap and see where your rotor is pointing, I personally like to the pull the distributor and re-stab it so that the rotor is pointing at the #1 cylinder for an obvious reason, then set your cap down on top of it with a terminal at #1 and then put your #1 plug wire there and then follow the firing order pattern clockwise on the cap

TDC on the compression stroke!!!

#1 on the distributor should be the front tower on the passenger side, if the dizzy is located 'correctly'
