Look down low on the front of the carb. The spark port is left of the PCV pipe and the manifold vacuum port is on the right. You probably have some trash in the inlet seat causing the flooding, Try tapping that area with a screw driver handle. Call Edlebrock and ask them to send you an owner's manual, They sent me one for free.

The intake manifold will not cause the problem you described.

The vacuum line connection will not cause flooding.

The trans vacuum port is usually connected to a fitting screwed into the top of the intake just to the rear of the carb mounting base.

The "ported" vacuum fitting is on the left front of the carb base.

The larger center vacuum port in the carb base is usually used for the PCV hose connection.

The "Full manifold" vacuum fitting is on the right front of the carb base.

Flooding can be caused by the needle not seating correctly due to damage or debris.

The spark is the one for the vacuum advance tube to the distributor. The Inlet is the place where the gasoline goes in, top side left. It has two inlet needles and seats. they are under the air horn (top of the carb) on each side in line with the fuel inlet. You really need the owners manual. It is very thorough and tells you everything you need to know about the carb. There should be a threaded hole down low in the middle back of the carb. you can put a fitting in there for the power brakes if there isn't one on your manifold. You should use an adapter plate if you're mounting the carb on a spread bore manifold. You can buy one at the parts house. Just ask for a square bore carb to spread bore manifold adapter plate.
