hey everyone , just curious if 2.02 valved heads on a SBC will change my gas mileage negatively VS 1.94 heads
Let us know everything about the build so we can see what you really need. what all has been done to the engine ?
And to answer you question i don't think you will see any noticable difference in the gas mileage. from the 194 - 2.02 valves. JMO

All other things being the same, then no it will not hurt the mileage. Anything that lowers the dynamic compression of the engine will lower its efficiency, including fuel efficiency.

The loss in mileage would only be very slight, probably not noticed. It depends a LOT on the head. Any oem sbc head doesn't need 2.02" valves and unless they are very heavily ported they will hurt performance. BUT refit a 220cc head with 1.94" valves and you'll lose power and mileage. It all needs to work together.
