this is happening in my 1995 suburban
When I hook up the negative battery cable my warning lights come on key off.
when i start the engine it does not turn off unless i remove coil wire.
I replaced the ignition switch and ended up with the same results
I just put in a new engine and all wires look fine what could cause this?

Could be a BCM problem.
Might be a good Idea to scan the system for any codes. That may lead you to a diagnosis
Also, first, check to be sure horn relay is plugged in , correctly. They can plug in backwards, and allways keep the circuit alive, and backfeed into other things.

Another items to check is the alternator. There should be a diode (allows current of flow only one way) in the 12 volt line to prevent back feed, since the alternator always has battery power. However, this diode should have been installed in the stock wiring.
