Where will I find the waste gate on 1999 350 ford super duty 7.3 litre diesel?

correct... no boost control at all, except your right foot.

There is a waste gate on that year Powerstroke. It is of course on the turbo. This link will show you a pic of it. It is the little roung gold chamber it will have a small hose going to it.

This is a pic of the ball bearing turbo but the stock turbo looks just like it.

I think the change was from 97'-98'

Ive got a 96' as well, with no waste gate. But I do know that newer 7.3 Powerstrokes certainly do have them. :welcome:

99-03 had a waste-gate.03 on the 6.0 and up have a variable vane that acts as a waste-gate. Ford is having problems with these sticking and causing over-boost conditions. To make it worse the new 6.4 to replace the 6.0 has two turbos that are both variable vane but are set up in sequential instead of a true dual.

94-97 powerstroke trucks do not have a waste gate and are not charge air cooled. Ford did not sell a 98 model truck. They went straight to 99 and the new body style. The trucks made and sold in 98 were sold as 99. The 99-03 7.3 has a waste gate and is charge air cooled. Being charge air cooled they make more power.
