hey guys I welded a roof patch and now I have a small valley of about 1/32 to 1/64 inch deep at its deepest. I would like to know if its possible to remove the valley with a dolly and hammer. Or should i just use filler over the seam and dont worry about it. Please look and let me know if anyone can help me with this project

I wish I had a "valley" that small. I would fill it so fast it would make my head swim. My opinion is unless you are really really really experienced...LEAVE IT ALONE. But of course you should let the experts decide, not me. An expert, I'm sure, would keep working it until "flat" as they say.

rolandag2,

It looks to me that you have rosette welded a Flange piece to your Roof-correct? If that is the case, and I hope you used some type of weld through Primer, I would not try and Metalfinish it. If you had butt welded te Top pieces together, then, yes, you could Hammer & Dolly (stretch) the HAZ (heat affected zone) and restore the shape.

Maybe someone else here has experience doing this, but I think your results would be less than satisfying-I would get out the Rage (of your choiice) and be done with it.
