ive been wetsanding with 1500 and its doing a nice job but is taking a long time. my question is what is the roughest paper i can wet sand with, and still get a smooth finish after buffing without deep scratches? i tried some 600 on a small spot but it left too deep of scratches. thanks.

Wet sanding is a long and tedious job- don't try to rush it and it'll look great!!! If I have a BC/CC with a good thick clear film, I knock down any orange peel w/600, then on to 1000 or 1500 and then finish up w/2000 before the buffing. Just make sure you don't sand through the clear. If you think it's not as thick do the 1000, then on to 1500 or 2000. I take about two days to wet sand and make sure it is right- you'll love it after the buff!!! Good Luck!! :)
