I have a 1981 El Camino with a 406 sbc, about 10.5:1 compression, 3200 stall, built turbo 350 with manual/automatic valve body and shift kit. I don't really plan on going faster than 125mph, i just want to get there in a hurry. I have the GM 10 bolt rear end. i haven't successfully been able to narrow down the right gears.

if you dont plan on much highway driving then id go for 3.73 or 4.10

since you have a th350

we have an 85 elky ss we totally restored and sunk about 8 grand into with brand new interior and seat recover job and paint and i took out the original 200k miles dying 305 4bbl LG4 and put a 350 cam in it and had it bored .030 and went through the e4me carb and put it back in and wow that sucker pulls hard with the crasp ratio 7.5" axle under it and stock 2004r also. im not even gonna change the ratio because its waaayyyy plenty fast. my 82 trans am is the same way with the bone stock 83 caprice LG4 i replace the original blwn up 305 with in it and replaced the 200c with a th350 and its got the crappy 2.73 ratio in it and i stuck a 2400 stall converter in it and its freaking quick too. its odd though., some cars even with horrible ratio axles will still haul very fast. its random.

i dont quite understand it haha.
