My old 1976 Dodge D200 truck is confusing me. I was told it has limited slip, i'm starting to doubt it. It will only spin one tire when it is in gear in a powerbrake and rarely 2 (dirt or ice), in reverse it will spin both tires constantly. I'm conufsed about this. It is in a dana 60 rear end.

Any help is appreciated,

Jack up one rear tire, put the truck in neutral (on a level surface) and turn the tire by hand, if it spins easy its not a posi (or it could be really worn out??) thats the easiest method I know.

First, jack up both rear tires. Shift it into neutral. Spin one of the tires.
If the other wheel spins in the same direction you have limited slip
If the other wheel spins opposite you don't have limited slip.

Ok, i've done what you all have stated to do, jack the truck up and turn the tire. It spins but the other tires spins with it at a lesser speed though, if you put something on the other tire and spin it it will only spin one and barely the other, in reverse it is strong and will spin both tires equally no matter what opposition.

Does this sound like a limited slip? How hard are they to rebuild?

Thanks for the help everyone,
